I haven’t done an update for my Nancy Drew Marathon. I’m playing the games in abc order, or trying to. I started playing Creature of Kapu Cave. I was really proud of myself, because I hadn’t had to look at my notes or use a walkthrough. Anyway I got up to the part where Nancy is “dialing” the radio to talk to Quigly and the game suddenly started freezing. So (after about 3 tries) I decided to go on the Danger By Design.
Danger By Design is one of those games, that I don’t “hate/dislike” but it’s not one of my favorites. But it would be nice if you could really develop film by flushing the toilet. I do like that there is a lot of Paris culture, and that it’s not the sterotypical Eiffel Tower Tourist culture.
I would say that I’m probably the only one who has ever done this but I’m pretty sure I’m not. I made chocolate chip cookies using the game recipe. I used the fresh mint, but the edges didn’t curl up. I don’t know if that’s just something in the game, or if they are really supposed to curl up.
As soon as I’m finished playing Danger by Design, it’s on to Deception Island.
This has been an interesting day. This morning I went to the park to buy a blue parrot for Heather (turns out it was for Minette). When I went to the moulin to give it to her she wasn’t there and Minette was running out of her office screaming. Needless to say, I spend the next hour or so, capturing cockroaches, and putting them in a candy box. Well that and snooping. Minette sent me to the park, to let them go. Why? I have no idea.
While at the park I saw Dietrich, when I waved at him he walked off. But he left behind a news article about a woman named Noisette Tornade. and this clock thing. Noisette was the name of the woman someone keeps calling Minette about.
I looked around the park at the vendors, one man had a WW2 decoder, which he said I could have for free if I bring him a bottle of some kind of wine, at least I think it is wine. The problem is it’s a very rare vintage.
I did however buy a wet suit from the man. Why? Well just call it women’s intuition.
After the park I went to return Dietrich’s things to him. I found him in the dark room, developing photos. (Hey D man, flush the toilet 10 times, It’s a lot faster!.) He didn’t want either item and told me that the clock thing fit a hole in the wall. Sigh!! I spent the next hour going cuckoo cuckoo, but it was worth it. I found Noisette’s journal and a secret code. Now all I have to do is find that bottle of wine and get that decoder. But that’s for tomorrow.
I don’t get the fashion world. Furry shoes in the summer time, bunny mask and ears on a cruise,!?! Anyway after finishing the “designs”, I had nothing to do, well nothing to do for all about 10 seconds. Minette started demanding Ji and Heather sent me to get her. Unfortunately Ji was in the middle of her cookie baking marathon and would leave. She finally agreed when I told her I’d bake them for her, but not before she told me that she would set one food in the moulin until the cookies were done.
I’ve made cookies before, but these were different, they contain fresh mint. The problem was that there happened to be a shortage of fresh mint. I ended up going to the cafe and ordering ice cream. Yes I felt a little bit guilty, but it was the only way I could think of, of finding some mint.
Back at the apartment I started to cook, only to find out that I was out of brown sugar. Fortunately I remembered the simple trick of adding molasses to white sugar, and fortunately Ji had molasses.
The cookies turned out beautiful. The edges turn up when baking, something to do with the fresh mint. That’ was how Ji knew I had done it right. She called the second I finished.
Right now I really have nothing to do, so I’m taking advantage of Heather being out of the office, and Minette being occupied with Ji, to try to get into the Dodo box. Minette has received some strange messages and phone calls.
I found out that Minette is addicted to computer games. She’s obsessed with getting the highest score on one particular game. I found this out when I returned with the stuff she wanted. Heather suggested that I play the game, because Minette wouldn’t know she wasn’t playing anyway. The problem was the game had a password and id. Well that and Heather was still sitting in the chair. So I decided to go do some of my other “jobs”.
I took the metro to pick up some photos from this photographer who’s name I can barely pronounce let alone spell. Only to find out that the pictures were taken with film, which needed to be developed. Can you guess who ended up developing them? That’s right good old Nancy Drew. Seriously I don’t see why people that it’s so hard or dangerous, all I did was flush the toilet ten times and they were done.
After that I took the metro to a Cafe to meet Jean Michel, I’m not even going to begin to spell his last name. We talked and he bought me lunch. I had the chicken dumplings and green beans. Of course I had no idea what I was getting when I ordered.
Well I survived tea making for Minette, at least I think I did, she didn’t throw anything at me, but then again she said the tea was absolutely rude.?> I think rude is a good thing, but then again the woman does wear a mask.
I met my roommate Ji Ji Ling. I forget to mention my luggage got lost and so I have to borrow Ji’s clothes. There is a problem with that, not that I mind borrowing her clothes but Ji Ji is supposed to be a size 12. Note the words “supposed to be”. I don’t know what planet that’s a size 12 but it certainty not this one. I’m not sure who thinks it is, probably Minette.
Now I must go to a park and buy items for Minette. Round objects….
After my supposed vacation to the Bahamas, of which I spent my entire time, driving around on a golf cart looking for Bess, getting knocked on the head by derrange monkey’s and stung by jelly fish while scuba diving, I decided to get a way to beautiful Paris. Unfortunately this is a “working” vacation. I’m “interning” for a famous fashion designer. My first assignment is to make her tea. Easy right, well you’ve never met Minette, with her the word easy doesn’t exist.
